St Germain Elderberry Liqueur 20%
Made from wild elderflowers hand-picked in Europe as soon as they bloom in late spring, St Germain is a creation of American distiller Robert Cooper. Present from start to finish, the elderflower does not just play the leading roles, it highlights a host of aromas and flavors that provide many contrasts to this bewitching liqueur.
Nose: Fine, elegant. Particularly fruity, with citrus fruits (pink grapefruit), spearmint and lime blossom. Then, the main actress enters the scene: elderflower accompanied by red fruits (blueberries, wild strawberries).
Palate: Deliciously unctuous. This time, elderflower takes center stage. Citrus fruits (lemon) and exotic fruits (pineapple, lychee) are found in the background. Each flavor became more syrupy. It lingers on with notes of dark chocolate and juicy orange.
Finish: Long, reminiscent of other liqueurs (vineyard peach, crème de cassis). Then, heady flowers (peony, lavender) precede notes of hazelnut, coconut milk and passion fruit. Intense, the empty glass is a subtle blend of white flesh fruits (peach, pear) and dairy products (exotic fruit yoghurt).

THE BRAND
ST-GERMAIN is a French liqueur made from fresh elderflowers picked by hand once a year in the spring, when they give the most aromas and flavors. The singular production process of ST-GERMAIN lies in the combination of maceration and pressure methods which respect the natural fragrance of the flowers and thus make it possible to capture the essence of fresh elderflowers. It is a creation of Rob Cooper, from the third generation of an American family of distillers, and the liqueur was imagined as a tribute to France.
