Whisky AKKESHI Single Malt Peated RITTO 55%
The single malt Peated Ritto (Ritsoutou) is the 5th whiskey in the "24 seasons series" produced by the talented Japanese distillery Akkeshi. It is inspired by the 24 solar seasons of the ancient Asian calendar. Ritto refers to the start of winter with the fall of the leaves from the trees. The distillery near the ocean is bordered by marshes where the peat is accessible. The single malt aged in Mizunara, Sherry and wine barrels. We are on a fruity chocolate expression with a peppery and smoky hint.
Very limited series.
Nose: Fruity and complex. with rather citrus fruit notes then chocolate.
Palate: Rich and delicate, with a citrus sweetness and hints of chocolate.
Finish: Delicate smoky peat with white pepper and citrus sweetness. experience.
THE BRAND
The Young Japanese Distillery started producing in October 2016 in rural northern Japan, in Akkeshi on the island of Hokkaido. As in Islay, the distillery is located on the seafront with the Pacific Ocean a few meters away. Surrounded by marshes, it has direct access to local peat. Following the success of Akkeshi New Born and Akkeshi Single Malt Whisky Peated Sarourunkamuy in 20 cl, this distillery then released Whisky Akkeshi Single Malt Peated Kanro.
