BUSHMILLS 21-year-old 40%
The Bushmills 21-year-old single malt comes from the blend of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. After maturing for 19 years, this single malt was matured for 2 years in barrels containing Madeira. This unusual finishing period allowed the single malt to soften, ripen and appropriate deeper notes of ripe fruit. Voted best Irish whisky in 2012, all bottles are numbered due to its limited production.
Colour: Deep mahogany.
Nose: Rich, with its aroma of fresh honey, ripe fruits and delicate notes of hazelnuts and cocoa.
Taste: Deep, rich with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla and a touch of charred oak.
Finish: Long and delicate, with a subtlety that is equal to this 21 years old single malt.
THE BRAND
Bushmills is the oldest licensed distillery in the world since 1608. Located a stone’s throw from the north Irish coast, Bushmills is also a village where friends, neighbours, families work at the distillery. With a triple distillation of barley, Bushmills stocks its whiskies in a wide variety of barrels from different backgrounds while retaining the Irish character of the whiskey. Water is drawn from the nearby Bush River. As the Master Home Distiller stresses, "We are not good because we are old, we are old because we are good". Thus, it is clear that Bushmills is an integral part of the global spirits landscape.
