March Komagatake Shinshu Aging Edition 2021, distilled and aged in Shinshu, Japan, in ex-bourbon and sherry barrels, this whisky shows a lot of maturity and elegance, and is rich and oily. It is now the classic expression of the distillery.
Nose : Fruity with quince, apricot, banana and pastry notes.
Palate : Sweet with honey, hazelnut, then melon and exotic fruits, persimmon.
Finish : Fine, tasty.
One of the Mars distilleries the Shinshu is perched at an altitude of 800 meters, and benefits from the mountains pure resources of but also from its harsh climate. Mars has a second artisanal distillery, Tsuinuki, since 2016 as well as an aging cellar on the island of Yakushima allowing them to produce whiskies from different climates.
