GLENLIVET 13-year-old First Fill American Oak 40%
The Glenlivet 13-year-old First Fill American oak is a single malt that has aged for over 13 years in American oak barrels. Distilled in the Speyside region, this single malt contains all the flavours that can be obtained by maturation in these typical American casks, giving it a fruity, vanilla-chocolate profile. It’s an exclusive for France.
Nose: Sweet, honey, toasted oak caramel.
Taste: Tasty, with citrus, vanilla flavours and chocolate flavours.
Finish: Long, smooth with vanilla.
The isolated Livet valley made it an ideal place for illicit distillation in 1822. It was there that George Smith the founder learned his craft away from customs officers and soldiers. In 1824, after a change in legislation, George Smith was to obtain his licence and thus become the first legal distiller in the parish of Glenlivet.
Many years have passed, and the vision of the founder is pursued, breaking traditions, establishing new standards and moving things forward, selecting unique and exceptional barrels, finishes and liquids.
