Zacapa Edicion Negra 43%
Zacapa Edicion Negra is a Guatemalan rum developed from the Sistema Solera technique, during which rums are assembled between 6 and 23 years old.
Zacapa Edicion Negra is a bold and balanced rum, at the height of the brand’s other rums, created by the Master Blender Lorena Vasquez. It has benefited from a year of aging in double toasted American oak barrels, giving it both intense smoky notes and a dark color.
Box with two glasses signed Zacapa.
Nose: Notes of caramelized fruits mixed with notes of smoke and incense.
Taste: Smoky notes of incense. Then there are flavours of chocolates and dried fruits.
Finish: Long and persistent.
The creation of Zacapa rum is intimately linked to the soil of Guatemala, to its tropical climate but also to the geographical location of the distillery on volcanic plains. This set gives the sugar cane exceptional qualities.
The cold air provided by the landscape gives it a slow aging, leaving to the Zacapa rum, the time of development all the subtleties of its pronounced character. But, altitude is not enough, Lorana Vasquez, cellar master, uses a unique Solera system.
