LA MARQUE
The story of Appleton Estate begins around 1749 in a unique location in Jamaica, the Nassau Valley. This distinctive environment is characterized by limestone formations, caves, and underground springs. The crystal-clear water imparts a special flavor to the sugarcane grown in the valley. Approximately ten varieties of sugarcane are used, along with their own indigenous yeast. They then distill the rum in pot stills or column stills made of copper. The rum is aged in ex-bourbon American white oak barrels. This entire process is overseen by Master Blender Joy Spence, the first woman in the spirits industry to hold this title.
