A1710 Bête à Feu Martinique 50,9%
This agricultural white rum is distilled from long and fresh sugar canes, cut by hand, then transported to the Three Rolls water mill of the A1710 distillery, which is located at the Habitation du Simon in François, Martinique. The cane is crushed and pressed in one go, thus extracting its nectar, and recovering the purest and best juice.
Bête à Feu is distilled in a copper still fitted with a 7-plate column, then slowly reduced to 50.9%.
Nose : Notes of fresh canes, very floral and fruity, fresh and mineral.
Palate : The fruity aromas of citrus and pear dominate over the honey.
Finish : Lingers on the palate, dominant mineral and peppery notes.
THE BRAND
A1710 is a relatively new distillery on the island of Martinique in the commune of François. In 2010, Yves Assier de Pompignan, encouraged by his father (founder of the Technical Center for Cane and Sugar, Martinique), embarked on the construction of a white rum distillery. What drives the A1710 distillery is the search for authenticity. They remain faithful to Martinique’s sugar and rum history, by highlighting all the nobility of manual labour. In 2016, A1710 rums obtained their ECOCERT certificate.
