BRUICHLADDICH Black Art 8.1 45,1%
Bruichladdich Black Art is its 8th edition and is simply a treat. There is a lot of mysteries surrounding the bottling of this whisky which was carried out the year the distillery was closed in 1994, by the chief distiller Adam HANNETT. We therefore have a 26-year-old single malt. Its aromatic puzzle between notes of citrus, lime zest, sweet caramel, pipe tobacco and maple syrup is just incredible, a real delight.
Nose : Citrus fruits, sweet caramel, pipe tobacco, dried apricots.
Palate : Very balanced, woody and spicy with caramel, vanilla.
Finish : Velvety, soft and sweet with notes of dried fruits, creamy chocolate.
Bruichladdich is a whisky distillery built in 1881 by three brothers. It is located on the Isle of Islay on the west coast of Scotland. It is one of nine distilleries on the Isle Islay, but Bruichladdich is to date the only distillery to produce, age and bottle its malt on the island. Following its purchase in 2000, the Bruichladdich distillery was very carefully renovated, they managed to save almost all the original material dating from the 19th century. Its single malt is only very slightly peated, with distinct marine origins, an iodized scent and a palate of salty flavours. This distillery produces two specially peated versions : Port Charlotte and Octomore.
