Mortlach Distiller's Dram 16 Year Old is a single malt inspired by its legendary first bottling of Mortlach 16 Year Old, aged in sherry casks, giving it fruity, spicy and sweet notes.
Nose: Intense and complex with black fruit aromas.
Palate: Round and smooth with a dark intensity of apricot and honey.
Finish: Long, complex and spicy.
The Mortlach distillery was founded in 1823, in the Speyside region. This ancient and majestic distillery is one of the 9 oldest distilleries in the town of Dufftown. During the Second World War, Mortlach was one of the very few Scottish distilleries producing whiskies in very small quantities. Now part of the Diageo group, having been bought in 1923 by Mr Johnnie Walker, Mortlach has a Scottish touch, all its stills have been bought second hand, producing rather full bodied whiskies in perfect harmony with the Speyside tradition.
