The Michard brewery has been in existence since 1987. The family is among the pioneers of microbreweries in France, and it was logical a few years ago to install a distillery within the production chain. The use of a living yeast strain contributes to giving a unique-tasting wort before distillation, combined with particular expertise. Jean Michard, and now Julie Michard, are at the helm of this wonderful enterprise. They are based in a superb building in Limoges, where visitors can observe the beer brewing techniques while snacking on brotmeisters, admire the whisky still, and see the ultra-modern beer brewing process adhering to the famous German purity law.
