SHAKARA 12 years old is an exquisite rum distilled in Thailand, offering a rich aromatic palette in a perfectly aged wooden case, inspired by the South Asian origins of sugar cane.
Nose: Notes of dried fruits (almond, walnut), scents of beeswax, heather honey and toffee
Palate: Clean, lively. Flavors of cane sugar, exotic fruits (mango, papaya) and fresh fig. Then notes of candy sugar and salted butter caramel
Finish: Long, silky
LA MARQUE
Renowned for its temples and historical treasures, Thailand has recently emerged as one of the countries to closely watch in the world of rum. This is hardly surprising, as the country ranks as the fourth-largest producer of sugarcane globally. Launched in October 2023, Shakara is a molasses-based rum aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels under Thailand's tropical climate. The combination of high temperatures (with an average annual temperature exceeding 27°C) and humidity levels ranging from 60 to 80% concentrates the flavors and gives rise to remarkable aromatic complexity.
