Dos Maderas Luxus 10+5 is an exceptional aged rum from the Dos Maderas brand, owned by the Spanish company Williams & Humbert. After aging for 10 years in British Guyana and Barbados, it undergoes an additional 5 years of maturation in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, in barrels previously used for the Spanish wine Don Guido. This unique combination creates a rich and balanced aromatic profile, blending the matured flavors of American oak with the subtle sweetness of Don Guido.
Nose: Butterscotch, banana, cigar
Taste: Cooked fruits, leather notes, red fruits.
Finish: Long and intense.
Williams & Humbert, a famous sherry wine producer, innovated by refining rum under its Dos Maderas brand, meaning “two woods” in Spanish. They buy rums aged for five years in 200 liter bourbon barrels, from Barbados and Guyana, before repatriating them to Spain. The two types of rum are then blended and aged again in high quality barrels that previously contained Pedro Ximénez Don Guido or Palo Cortado Dos Cartados, aged for over 20 years.
