The single malt Waterford Heritage Hunter is characterized by the expression of the terroir, For this expression was chosen a variety of barley tasty but largely forgotten and brought up to date by the farmers of Waterford and introduced at the time by the breeder of Herbert Hunter plants. This single malt is made from a blend of 45% first fill American oak, 19% American virgin oak, 21% French oak and 15% Vin Doux Naturel. Harvested in 2018 on the Donoughmore farm, the barley was malted then distilled in 2019. We are on an intense single malt, with a very original lemony character, complemented by notes of candied fruit and delicate spices, enhanced by a farmy and saline touch.
Nose : Intense with lemon sorbet, red apple, saline, farmy and earthy notes.
Mouth: Gourmet, pastry, lemony, toasted wood notes.
Finish: Vegetal, delicately spicy, with a touch of charred oak.
