OCTOMORE 13.2 is the thirteenth edition of the series two. This Islay whisky continues the exploration with a phenol level of 137.3 ppm, still very powerful. Beyond the peaty heights, this single malt has been aged exclusively in 1st fill Oloroso sherry casks for 5 years. It was distilled in 2016 with 100% Scottish barley from 201 and bottled unfiltered and without coloring. Series 2 Octomore is dedicated to exploring the cask. It highlights the influence of the Oloroso sherry cask through notes of nuts, citrus and thick peaty smoke.
Very limited edition.
Nose: Very aromatic, with salty notes and nutty smoke. The Oloroso casks impart citrus and spice aromas with a soft peaty smoke beautifully interwoven.
Palate: Notes of smoked nuts, leather, citrus and spices with a nice presence in the mouth.
Finish: Oloroso casks bring fruit and nutty flavors. A salty sea breeze flavor creates a lively flavor combination to finish.
Bruichladdich is a whisky distillery built in 1881 by three brothers. It is located on the Isle of Islay on the west coast of Scotland. It is one of nine distilleries on the Isle Islay, but Bruichladdich is to date the only distillery to produce, age and bottle its malt on the island. Following its purchase in 2000, the Bruichladdich distillery was very carefully renovated, they managed to save almost all the original material dating from the 19th century. Its single malt is only very slightly peated, with distinct marine origins, an iodized scent and a palate of salty flavours. This distillery produces two specially peated versions : Port Charlotte and Octomore.
