OCTOMORE 13.3 is an Islay single malt distilled in 2016 from 100% Scottish barley grown on Octomore Farm by James Brown. It is harvested, malted, distilled and separated from the others to make a vintage single malt. It is peated at 129.3 ppm.
This whisky has been aged for 5 years in American whiskey casks of 1st fill and in European oak casks of second fill from Rivesaltes in France and Ribero del Duero in Spain.
Very limited edition.
Nose: Light fruity, floral and pastry notes. Malty, peaty and greedy aromas.
Taste: Fruity and peppery notes then sweetness of barley sugar. Dominance of peat and dried fruits.
Finish: Marine and smoky notes. Aromas of coal, soot, dried figs.
Bruichladdich is a whisky distillery built in 1881 by three brothers. It is located on the Isle of Islay on the west coast of Scotland. It is one of nine distilleries on the Isle Islay, but Bruichladdich is to date the only distillery to produce, age and bottle its malt on the island. Following its purchase in 2000, the Bruichladdich distillery was very carefully renovated, they managed to save almost all the original material dating from the 19th century. Its single malt is only very slightly peated, with distinct marine origins, an iodized scent and a palate of salty flavours. This distillery produces two specially peated versions : Port Charlotte and Octomore.
